This two-morning online training course summarises how the personal independence payment (PIP) claim process or ‘journey’ works and the importance of the PIP2 questionnaire.  It looks at what makes a good PIP claim, and also at the limitations of the PIP2 questionnaire. We look how it can be optimised using the regulations, guidance and case law.The course covers:A summary of the legal basis of PIP entitlement How points flow from PIP ‘activities’ and ‘descriptors’The role of the PIP2 questionnaire to generate informationHow PIP2 matches up or fails to match up to PIP ‘descriptors’How a defective questionnaire response can cause troubleHow to use PIP regulations 7 and 4(2A) to assist in making good claimsHow PIP case law provides very useful guidance to advisersHow to improve on the standard PIP2 formHow to complete the questionnaire with an eye to tribunal judge scrutiny, if an appeal becomes necessaryMethod of delivery and timingsThis full-day equivalent, experienced-level course, is delivered online via Zoom over two consecutive mornings. It runs from 10am to 1pm on each day, with a half hour break between 11.15-11.45. It is a practical course delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and group discussion. Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet. It is not recommended to join via a mobile phone.
