This is an advanced level course for people with existing benefit knowledge. 

The course follows on from our other eLearning course UC backdating. It might be a good idea to do that course first.

Most of the general rules about claiming universal credit apply to claimants who are subject to managed migration. This includes the usual rule about backdating. There is one situation where a different rule applies though and we'll learn about this in the course.

The course also looks at whether backdating under the usual rules can help you get transitional protection if you do not claim universal credit until after the final deadline for managed migration.
